Unity is the top choice among among indie game developers and many professional game development studios. It’s powerful game engine supports cross-platform game development! And the software can be used on Macs, PCs or Linux. What will we cover? To start we’ll: -Explore the Unity development environment -Create basic 3D models within Unity -Introduction to computer programming -Apply textures, materials and other components -Apply lighting and camera views Develop a game story based on real-world events or fantasy – you choose! We will look at current movements in game design: indie game design, games 4 change, etc. -defend our planet against space alien invasions! -inspire people to ‘save our real world’ much like game heroes save fictional worlds   more

Two Sessions: August 7-10 3D Character Design & Animation for TEENS August 7-10 3D Character Design & Animation for 10-12 year olds Location Artech Camps at NSCC Institute of Technology, 5685 Leeds Street Telephone: 902-579-3317 We’ll cover: - working in a 3d environment - modelling techniques and tools - rigging characters - working with light and shadows - experimenting with materials & texture At mid week we will import our models into a 3d animation program Here we will: - rig our models, i.e. give them bones or a skeleton - prepare a short animated sequence End of week: You will have a finished animated character to show off to friends and family!   more

Set the scene with your own characters, terrain and story. We will cover: - manipulating 3d primitives - working with materials & textures - importing basic assets - rigging and programming characters to move around - planning a virtual environment - setting up cameras and controls Finished projects will be exported for android devices or android simulators (to run on computers).
