Dartmouth Community Shave June 10, 2017 - 1:00 - 2:00pm at Mic Mac Mall - Lower Level (next to Pretzel Maker) This event is being co-hosted by local radio station 105.9 Seaside FM and volunteers (young adults living with cancer). Shave for the Brave consists of members of the public having volunteer stylists cut at least 10 inches of hair (for children's wigs) and/or having their heads shaved to raise awareness and funds for the programs that Young Adult Cancer Canada provides for young adults living with cancer. There are large symbolic and emotional components to any Shave event. Donating your hair for wigs or shaving your head bald is a big sacrifice and those who participate have a lot invested in the activity. Some do it to support a loved one dealing with cancer, to remember someone they lost to cancer, or simply to help support the cause. This makes for an unforgettable experience!
