About Us

The Coast is a news organization that has been printing a free weekly alternative newspaper since 1993. Now circulating 24,000 copies every Thursday to over 610 high traffic locations in the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM), the paper is read by the vast majority of Haligonians. The Coast is independent and locally owned.

The Coast has been running classified ads weekly in print for the last 15 years. It has always been the best place in Halifax to rent or sublet an apartment - and the PSST classified section is a great personal message centre for many locals. In 2007 we integrate online and print classified advertising to give our classifieds clients a one-stop process. Now you can run your ad online only or online and in print - you make the choice.

www.thecoast.ca and www.thecoastclassifieds.ca, The Coast's websites, run even more content than the newspaper. Your classified ads, your restaurant reviews and our entertainment listings are updated on an ongoing basis. Blogs such as Reality Bites, Shoptalk, Scene & Heard and Art Attack are updated daily.
